1 John
During His earthly ministry, Jesus is approached and asked this question: “Which is the greatest commandment?” Jesus’ reply is that the entire Law and Prophets can be summarized with two key callings: To love God and love neighbor.
Christians are called to be people of love. What or who we love and how we love them shapes the entirety of our lives. In the book of 1 John, the apostle John has much to say about our loves, because our loves not only shape our lives but confirm our futures. John wants us to know we are children of God by having us examine what and who we love.
