THE GOD WHO SEEKS
Too often Christians live insulated lives, surrounded by those who only believe and think like us. We find ourselves disgusted with the surrounding culture, tempted towards self-righteousness, pride and resentment. Or we find ourselves defeated and apathetic, overwhelmed with the work to be done. We need to get back to the basics. We need to get back to the heart of our God.
Jesus Himself reveals God’s heart for the world: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus came to seek out those who don’t know Him and to save them. But this isn’t just a sort of ‘New Testament God’ one off. This has been who God is for all time. From the very first pages of the Bible, through the very end, God is, and has always been, a God who seeks.
